In mid-June, twenty seven delegates from the five TuCAHEA countries will visit Rome, Pisa and Groningen, for a round of workshops and information sessions organized the University of Pisa (Italy) and of Groningen (The Netherlands). and hosted by thoseUniversities,the Tuning Academy and the Ministry of Education Universitiesand Research of Italy (MIUR).
During this visit a Communiqué regarding the Central Asian Higher Education Area (CAHEA) will be illustrated by the 5 representatives of the Ministries of Education of the five TuCAHEA partner countries. The Communiqué comprises an agreement to explore how the five countries can collaborate further in the interests of the quality and visibility of their higher education systems, in a world framework. The signature ceremony is foreseen in Rome at the Italian Ministry (“Sala dei Cristalli”) on the morning of 16 June 2014.
During the visit the delegates (including the Ministerial representatives, several pro-Rectors and a number of Heads of Department) will: continue their work on the Guidelines and Reference Points which are being prepared for eight key Subject Areas, prepare for participation in the new EU programmes in the areas of Higher Education and Research(Erasmus+ and Horizon2020), organize the TuCAHEA Pilot Student Mobility scheme, and examinemodels for creating a Central Asian Credit Reference System and a Central Asian Qualifications Framework.
