During the months of September and October, in all five countries Tempus officials carried out monitoring visits to evaluate the progress of the project, give information and advice. In September the Tajik Country Group was monitored by Czarina Nuridinova, National Tempus Coordinator (NTO) for Tajikistan; and the Kyrgyz Country Group by the TuCAHEA Project Advisor, Alba-Chiara Tiberi of the European Commission and the Krygyz NTO Gulnara Chokusheva. In the second week of October Dr Tiberi monitored the Turkmen group in Ashgabat; the NTOs from Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan (Aziza Abdurakhmanova and Shaizada Tasbulatova), assisted by Igor Vikhor of the Uzbek Office monitored the Uzbek Group during its Country Meeting in Namangan (10 October); the Kazakh Group was monitored by the Kazakh NTO again during its Country Meeting in Shymkent (19 October).

The monitoring visits allowed the Project Advisor and the NTOs to became better acquainted with the project’s goals and modus operandi, and to point out areas where the Consortium can increase  and enhance its effectiveness and achievements.
